Stay in touch with Seacoast Dems' activities between elections including Seacoast Citizen Action Network (SCAN) and local democratic party events by joining our mailing list.
Following the 2012 election, some members of Seacoast Democrats wanted to continue working to advance progressive values and positions of the campaign and promote effective government action. We decided to form a group aimed at encouraging citizen participation in the Seacoast area. As a result, the idea for Seacoast Citizen Action Network (SCAN) was born.
SCAN's goal is to create opportunities for Seacoast area people and organizations to connect both virtually (through use of media and technology) and in-person (community forums, issues groups, political actions) to further the sharing of ideas and move government action forward on key issues.
We hope to grow an informal and dynamic network that encourages individuals to share information and promote action on the issues they are passionate about.
A website has been created to consolidate links to information on elected officials and web resources about key issues and organizations of citizens for action at all levels of government. Visit the SCAN website at SeacoastNetwork.Org

Congratulations to our truly wonderful candidates who all waged great campaigns.
Our Seacoast Dems' and candidates' volunteers were hardworking, consistent and effective. Thank you to everyone who showed up when asked, just stopped by, or worked in their own communities -all did their part in helping the very important local candidate campaigns.
The Seacoast is sending back to the Maine House Representative Bobbi Beavers and Representative Mark Eves, and Senator Dawn Hill back to the Senate. Our new Representatives are Paul McGowan and Deane Rykerson.
We the citizens are the true winners here!
Hooray also to the voters who turned out in droves! A great election day. I am so happy to be moving forward in this state and in the country.
